NTV has raided KTN newsroom in a major swoop targeting three seasoned journalists.

Sources privy to the details confirmed that KTN news anchors Lindah Ogutu and Ben Kitili are in the process of clearing with KTN and making a return to NTV where they once worked.

Veteran Swahili news anchor and media personality, Lofty Matambo is also on NTV’s radar in a move that could shake Standard Group-owned KTN.

“Lofty is ready to join NTV. He met the management of both sides, who are now finalizing the paperwork. The only issue derailing the move is some agreement between the two stations. However, he already served his notice and is almost serving his time,” disclosed an insider privy to the details.

Ogutu and Kitili are currently in final discussions with NTV management with reports indicating that they will switch sides by mid-April.

The media house will then unveil a new line-up in a bid to challenge the dominance of Citizen TV that has remained the most popular TV station over the years.

The trio will join Fridah Mwaka who dumped KTN on 21 March 2021 without disclosing her next move with news emerging that she is also headed to NTV.

Linda and Kitili are undoubtedly among Kenya’s top talent in journalism and command respect among viewers.

Lofty Matambo on the other hand is a multi-talented journalist with an excellent command of Kiswahili.

He has been with the Standard Media Group since 2013 with a presence both on KTN and Radio Maisha.

The swoop comes barely a few days after Nation Media Group restored the full salaries of its employees.
