German tycoon flees the country to Tanzania fearing for his life after losing 5.4Million to Kenyan lover

An elderly German man who hit the headlines last week after losing millions to his younger Kenyan lover has fled the country fearing for his life.

Reiner Kreplin escaped to Tanzania fearing for his life after his Kenyan fiancé allegedly stole Ksh. 5.4 Million from his private villa at Harbor Key Cottages in Malindi.

Kreplin pointed an accusing finger at his 24-year-old fiancé Mercy Adhiambo who he accused of hiring anonymous people believed to be hitmen to track his movements which forced him to seek refuge in the neighbouring Tanzania.

“I am currently out of Kenya for my safety because of the threats I was receiving from anonymous people who were always following me,” Kreplin stated.

Kreplin blamed the police for taking too long to act on the case, expressing concerns over his life even as Malindi sub-county police commander John Kemboi noted that police were close to making a breakthrough in the case.

His 24-year-old fiancé is still on the run.

According to the German national, he had just returned into the country with a huge sum of money to pursue a join business venture with Adhiambo.

Their interests were in an irrigation project, a villa and a recycling plant in Ganze constituency, Kilifi County.

What is turning out to be Krepin’s worst nightmare began in 2019 when he was on holiday in Mombasa when he met Adhiambo who was then serving as a waitress in one of the hotels along the Coast.

Love blossomed and the two moved in together as they began planning for a better future together.

“Happily ever after” was never to be as Adhiambo soon unleashed her true character, making away with the millions.
