Veteran politician and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has today, 06 April 2021 issued an apology to Nairobi billionaire and former President Daniel arap Moi’s aide Joseph Kulei.
Kalonzo mourned former State Comptroller Abraham Kiptanui using a photo of Kulei, attracting the wrath of netizens.
“I spoke to my good friend Joshua Kulei and personally apologized for the mix-up on my twitter handle. May Abraham Kiptanui soul continue resting in eternal peace,” Kalonzo said.
In his condolence message, Kalonzo stated that he had worked closely with Kiptanui, only to accompany it with the wrong photo.
“I have known and worked closely with Abraham during his tour of duty and deeply admired his commitment to duty as a loyal public servant,” Kalonzo had earlier twitted.
Kiptanui took the final bow in the wee hours of Easter Sunday morning after a long illness.
Also caught up in the confusion was KTN News which erroneously used Kulei’s photo and later apologized.
“While breaking the news of the death of former State House Comptroller Abraham Kiptanui on KTN News, we erroneously used the photo of Joshua Kulei, a former Moi aide. We apologise to Mr. Kulei and his family for the mix-up,” noted the media house.
Kulei is an accomplished businessman with vast interest in real estate, manufacturing, farming, and banking.
He is also one of the shareholders at Standard Media Group.
