Moses Kuria issues warning to IEBC, reveals secret meeting over Juja and Bonchari by-elections

Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria has sensationally claimed that plans are underway to compel the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to postpone the May 18th by-elections.

In his message, the lawmaker appealed to IEBC boss Wafula Chebukati to resist any such attempts.

Kuria stated that he is aware of a meeting in which plans to postpone the Bonchari, Juja and Rurii by-elections, insisting that it will not be a good move, just 15 months into the next General election.

He placed the blame squarely on Jubilee, stating that things are difficult for the party and alleging that underhand means were now being used to punish the people of Rurii and Bonchari.

“Surely, I know things are elephant for Jubilee in Juja but please do not punish the people of Bonchari – Kisii County and Rurii, Nyandarua County. IEBC is held up in a meeting discussing how to postpone the 3 by-elections slated for May 18th. Dear Wafula Chebukati. Resist this. It will set a bad precedent 15 months before the General Elections,” wrote Moses Kuria.

After parting ways with Jubilee, the lawmaker registered a new party, People’s Empowerment Party, which has fielded candidates in several by-elections and will be contesting for the Juja parliamentary seat in the May 18, by-election.
