Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) announce 200 vacancies, How to apply

The Kenyan Ministry of Defence has today advertised over 200 vacancies inviting qualified and interested Citizens to apply.

Through a gazette notice dated today April 13, 2021, the ministry announced that the application process was open to the public until Monday, May 3, 2021.

Among the positions open for application includes, (5), spray painters (7), panel beaters (5), welders (5), carpenters (8), electricians (5), vehicle mechanics (33), clerical offers (49), sanitary cleaners (51), drivers (11) and cooks (30).

The ministry shall give them a basic salary of between Ksh 15,670, and Ksh 17,570.

All applicants shall also be entitled to a house allowance depending on the area of deployment, commuter allowance of Ksh3,000 and leave allowance of Ksh4,000 once every year.

They shall also be employed on permanent and pensionable basis.

Among the common requirements for all the positions includes a KCSE grade of at least D plain or its equivalent from a recognized institution.

The Ministry also warned against canvassing as it would lead to automatic disqualification, and encouraged all regardless of their gender, marital status, age, race. culture, religion and disability to apply for the positions.

How to make online application.

1. All first-time users of the Public Service Commission (PSC) Online Recruitment and Selection system are required to register by providing ID / Passport Number, Surname, current Email address and a password to access the system.

2. To apply for any advertised job, log into the system using the ID / Passport Number and the Password created in (1) above.

3. The applicant must ensure that information pertaining to personal details, professional and academic qualifications, experience, membership to professional bodies, referees and any other relevant information is provided before submitting the application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

4. While on the page, the applicants are required to complete one application form PSC2 (Revised 2016) and submit the same together with copies of the required certificates. Completed forms should be addressed to the Cabinet Secretary.

4. Applicants are advised to print and keep a copy of the Feedback Report (application summary) by clicking on the Report tab or Application Summary link on the Application Menu.

5. The Online Recruitment and Selection system allows applicants to amend/revisit their application(s) at any time before the closure date.
