Several buses that were ferrying students celebrating the 2020 KCPE results have been impounded by the police.
The police divulged that the buses were impounded as the occupants who were celebrating the 2020 KCPE Aresults that were released on Thursday were flaunting Covid-19 rules.
The drivers who were taking the students in a lap of honour around Mukuru kwa Njenga estate in Nairobi County were also arrested and will be arraigned in court on Monday, 18 April 2021.
Embakasi Sub-County Commander Francis Kamau vowed that those flaunting the rules would be dealt with accordingly despite their social status.
“There is no one that is above the law. Hence, if these laws are broken, action will be taken against the individuals,” the commander stated.
Drivers have been asked to keep the 1.5 metres rule while ferrying passengers in their vehicles, in a bid to curb the spread of Covid-19.
“I urge all law enforcement officers to live true to their oath of office and discharge their duties without fear or favour in enforcing the containment measures,” the Head of State commanded.
