Kenyans have in the recent past been treated to bitter divorce acses roping in prominent politicians and leaving behind broken hearts and marriages that ended in disappointment.
Most have been characterised by a bitter fight over property while others have exposed shameful details as couples take on each other with allegations of infidelity, neglect of marital responsibilities among others coming up.
A good number of the victims have moved on to seek love elsewhere while some are still fighting court battles and juggling the same with their political careers.
The Machakos County Governor exchanged vows with his ex-wife and the mother of his children Ms. Josephine Thitu in July 2000.
Five years later, as Mutua’s career in civil service picked up, the couple separated in a nasty divorce on the grounds of irreconcilable differences.
At the center of the bitter divorce was the custody of their three children and a multi-million estate.
The wife later moved with the children to Australia, in what later saw Mutua meet and marry Lilian Ng’ang’a, his current wife in 2011.
The former Machakos senator’s divorce with his ex-wife Agnes Kavindu in 1983 saw the Muthama kick her out of their matrimonial home in Mua, Machakos County with the children.
The drama would continue decades later with Kavindu parading and mentioning a number of women that the former Machakos Senator has been romantically involved with in 2021, giving embarrassing details.
The divorce even saw Kavindu lose property dispute when she called on the court to stop Mr. Muthama from wasting, damaging, or interfering with his 50 percent shares.
