NTV has unveiled a new line up of presenters that were recently poached from rival media house KTN.
The duo was unveiled in a carefully-edited 31-second video shared by the media house.
The video only shows only the sides of the faces of the two anchors, their shoes, clothes, leaving the audience to speculate who the duo is.
Well-placed sources intimated to Kenyaleo.co.ke that Fridah Mwaka and Lofti Matambo and are expected to co-host the 7 pm bulletins.
“For now, only the teaser has been released to keep the audience guessing but after a week, a promo will be out,” said the source.
It is not yet clear on which days they will be hosting, but they are expected to hit the screens on the first week of May.
NTV was recently reported to have raided KTN in an attempt to reclaim its place as the most popular local TV station.
Sources privy to the details confirmed that KTN news anchors Lindah Ogutu and Ben Kitili are in the process of clearing with KTN and making a return to NTV where they once worked.
Ogutu and Kitili are currently in final discussions with NTV management with reports indicating that they will switch sides by mid-April.
The media house will then unveil a new line-up in a bid to challenge the dominance of Citizen TV that has remained the most popular TV station over the years.
Linda and Kitili are undoubtedly among Kenya’s top talent in journalism and command respect among viewers.
Lofty Matambo on the other hand is a multi-talented journalist with an excellent command of Kiswahili.
He has been with the Standard Media Group since 2013 with a presence both on KTN and Radio Maisha.
