Hours after President Uhuru Kenyatta announced the end of cessation of movement and revised curfew hours for five counties that had been placed under partial lockdown, rapper Kaligraph Jones has taken to social media in celebration, revealing the role he played in the development and urging Kenyans to thank him.
Taking to social media, Kaligraph who met with Deputy President William Ruto earlier in the week took credit for the announcement made by the president.
Kaligraph noted that the announcement was a result of his intervention when he took a bold step to meet DP Ruto.
“After My meeting with the Government last Week, I am Very sure you can now see the Results, It is not exactly what we had really hoped for but at least its a start, , Now Thank me on the comment Section and Respect The OG. #respecttheogs #unlockourcountry,” wrote the rapper.
It all began when Kaligraph reached out to DP Ruto who then invited him alongside other creatives.
The meeting discussed ways in which the country could be safely opened for business even as the nation contains the Covid-19 pandemic.
The meeting saw those who participated criticized by Rapper Octopizzo and King Kaka had called out Khaligraph and the artists who met with the DP as opportunists who are using Covid-19 as a cover-up for who they truly are.
Khaligraph clapped back saying that Octo’s reaction was due to jealousy that he had been left out of the meeting.
President Uhuru Kenyatta lifted the cessation of movement in the Counties of Nairobi, Machakos, Kajiado, Kiambu and Nakuru.
The announcement was made during Labour Day celebrations that also saw the president announce that curfew had also been revised to 10pm to 4am from 8pm to 4am.
The changes were made after the Covid-19 positivity rate went low in the last one month following the strict measures that were rolled out.
