Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has taken to social media celebrating the remarks made by his Nyando counterpart Jared Odoyo Okello during a recent interview on Citizen TV.
Kuria noted that he, as one from the “benefitting” Mt Kenya region, welcomed the decision to create 70 new constituencies as was explained by his Nyando counterpart.
“My friend Nyando MP Jared Odoyo Okello made my week. When he was asked by Trevor Ombija on Citizen TV whether creation of 70 Constituencies will be justification to postpone elections “as there will not be enough time to delineate boundaries” Hon Okello replied that there is no crisis and every constituency is represented by an MP, there is no unrepresented corner of Kenya and we can have the new constituencies either before or after the General Elections. As one from the “benefitting” Mt Kenya region, I fully welcome the 70 New Constituencies.” Kuria wrote.
Kuria however added that he rejects the same should it mean any delay in the electoral calendar that will see the term of the current regime extended.
“But if the price to pay is to extend the life of this government by even one day, you can boil the 70 and make soup from them #FinishAndGo” Kuria affirmed.
The lawmaker has been an ardent critic of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration and recently started a countdown to the end of the current administration with the mantra: Finish and Go!”.
He is a close associate to DP Ruto and has aligned himself with the Tanga Tanga faction of Jubilee.
Reports indicate that he is among those being fronted to be DP Ruto’s running mate.
