Raila Odinga leads Kenyans in celebrating women with a moving message

Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga openred up penning down a moving message to honour the womenfolk on their special day today Sunday 9th May 2021.


In his heartfelt and touching message, the former premier recognised the uniqueness of every woman, while recaling how his mother passed on while he was in detention.


He added that he was only formally informed of the late mother’s death two months after her demise.
The AU special envoy went ahead to single out single mothers in appreciating the unconditional love of mothers in multi-tasking to make the world a better place.


“My mother passed away while I was in detention. I was formally informed about it two months after her demise. My mother like the millions of others was special and unique.


Just like Mother Earth, they make the world a better place; they love us unconditionally, and oh man they can multi-task. It’s Mother’s Day. I single out single mums today. Happy Mother’s Day!” Odinga’s statement read.

Mother’s Day is a day celebrated in honouring mothers in the family, the motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in bettering the society.
