We facilitate strengthening of local capacity in developing countries, support the creation of enabling environments for economies to thrive, and improve market access.
1.1 The Gender and Social Inclusion Strategy.
The Solidaridad Eastern & Central Africa (Solidaridad ECA) – Regional Multi-Annual Strategic Plan (MASP) III (2021-2025) spells out opportunities towards more inclusive and sustainable supply chains. It emphasizes the opportunities towards Gender and Social Inclusive Empowerment approaches and trajectories to be scaled up to ensure we build inclusive and considerate interventions in local and global supply chains. Such approaches not only provide economic rewards for women, men, and the young people but also put into consideration the dynamics of their special needs . To this end, Solidaridad ECA has developed a Gender and Social Inclusion strategy that is in line with the MASP III – 2021-2025 to ensure that our approaches foster and facilitate gender equality and inclusion prioritization and are in line with the global and regional priorities. Our approach to effective gender and social inclusion will ensure gender integration in programs, organizational institutional processes and systems, ensure our programs benefit the most marginalized populations; women, youth, people living with disabilities, and racial minorities among others. The approach focuses on leaving no one behind!
The main objective of the assignment is to finalize review and design of the gender and social inclusion strategy
The specific objectives are:
(i) Conduct editorial, branding, formatting, graphics and imaging of the detailed gender and social inclusion strategy and
(ii) Develop a professionally summarized version of the strategy, with the appropriate branding, formatting, graphics and imaging (the abridged version).
a) A professionally edited and designed Gender and Social Inclusion Strategy
b) An abridged version (professionally summarized and design version) of the gender strategy (Less than 10 pages).
4. Expert/Consultant’s Profile:
The consultant MUST have minimum academic qualifications in Communication and Graphics Design. The Consultant must demonstrate prior experience carrying out similar tasks. Demonstrable capabilities in editing and graphics design (branding, formatting, graphics and imaging), and particularly, crisp writing for diverse audiences.
5. Consultancy Period:
The consultancy will run for a period of ten (10) days. Prior to commencement of this assignment, there will be an inception meeting between the consultant AND Solidaridad Communications & Knowledge Management Officer and the Regional Gender Inclusivity Advisor.
