Jubilee, ODM & UDA Lock Horns By-Elections

Kenyans are keenly following two by-elections that are currently underway in Bonchari, Kisii and Juja in Kiambu County.

The seats were left vacant following the deaths Oroo Oyioka and Francis Waititu and attracted Jubilee, ODM and UDA.

In Bonchari, Jubilee fielded Zebedeo Opore, While ODM has Pavel Oimoke and UDA is banking on Teresa Bitutu to bag the seat. 

In Juja Jubilee’s Susan Njeri Waititu of Jubilee is squaring it out with People’s Empowerment Party’s (PEP) George Koimburi who is backed by Moses Kuria.

A ward by-election is also underway in Rurii, Nyandarua County. 

19:00: Polling stations close as vote counting begins. 

16:18: Deputy IG Edward Mbugua responds to allegations of police frustrations fronted by ODM and UDA.

“Police are on the ground to facilitate peaceful and orderly conduct during the Bonchari by-election. Voting in most polling stations has been conducted peacefully and without incident and we thank the Bonchari residents for maintaining the law.”
