DP Ruto embarks on a two-day tour of the Coast days after humiliating Jubilee (Video)

Deputy President William Rut ohs today Saturday May 22, 2021, embarked on his two-days tour of the vote rich Costal stretch days after humiliating the ruling Jubilee party in the just recent by-elections.

Reports privy to his itinerary indicates that the DP will be accompanied by Coastal and other political leaders allied to his new Hustler outfit, in selling economic blueprint to the region.

It is further noted that the second in command had earlier in the day held a meeting with 10 members of parliament and senators from the region’sTana River and Lamu areas.

Among those who were in attendance during the meeting are, Senator Irungu Kang’ata of Murang’a, Turkana Governor Josephat Nanok and economist David Ndii. 

Members of Parliament present during the meeting include among others; Aisha Jumwa (Malindi), Mohammed Ali (Nyali), Khatib Mwashetani (Lunga Lunga).

The DP is also reported to have met a team of lecturers from Pwani University led by Hamisi Mwakimako, with economic deficits and prospects for the presentation to Dr. already gathered.   

The Coastal leaders are expected to brief the Deputy President of the economic strength of the region, with the key focus ranging from agriculture, mining, and tourism.

The region has been a centre of focus for Dr. Ruto and the ODM leader Raila Odinga ahead of the 2022 general elections, with each scrambling for a chunk of the votes.

This comes just weeks after the DP held series of similar meetings with the leaders from the vote-rich Mt. Kenya region, to cement his support base.
