Hours after DP Ruto convened a meeting with politicians from the People’s Empowerment Party, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has announced changes at the helm of the party leadership.
According to a press release shared by the fiery lawmaker, Sandrah Kimani will take over at the helm as the party’s executive director.
She is expected to steer the party to greater heights, bringing her vast experience in organizational management, communication and brand positioning.
The announcement came hours after DP Ruto directed his charm offensive at the Moses Kuria-led party, convening a meeting with officials.
Leading the delegation was Raymond Kuria who recently shelved his ambitions in the Kiambaa by-election in support of UDA’s John Njuguna Wanjiku.
The second in command provided an update on social media, noting that (Raymond) Kuria made the decision of pulling out of the race “for the sake of unity and prosperity of the people”.
“Met with Raymond Kuria with his team from Kiambaa Constituency who have graciously agreed to vacate their political ambitions in the forthcoming by-election to support and work with John Njuguna Wanjiku, the Hustler Nation candidate, for the sake of unity and prosperity of the people, Karen, Nairobi County.” Wrote the DP.
It is not clear why Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria skipped the event with speculation that the meeting was organized behind his back to paint him as a lone-ranger -a general without an army and give weight to the decision that saw PEP pull out of the race to support UDA’s candidate who has been christened as the hustler nation’s candidate.
Reports indicate that power struggles and political realignments are threatening to scatter the hustler nation apart, taking DP Ruto behind on a narrative and a movement that has taken years to craft.
