Activist Boniface Mwangi Wins Coveted Global Award

Renown activist Boniface Mwangi is the recipient of the coveted Outstanding Youth Peacemaker award at the 9th annual Luxembourg Peace Prize ceremony.

The activist at the 9th annual Luxembourg Peace Prize ceremony held at the University of Luxembourg as part of the Compassionate Leadership Summit on Climate, Health and Peace and the 5th Annual Transatlantic Dialogue conference.

The event was graced by distinguished peacemakers representing a diverse mix of Activists, Educators, Leaders, and Artists from around the world in ten categories.

“Boniface Mwangi Is one of the most vocal and courageous Kenyans of our generation. Recognized globally for his passion and excellence in photography, this photographer-cum-activist could not resist the call to activism after witnessing, first-hand, the brutality that disadvantaged Kenyans experienced in the wake of the Post- Election Violence of 2008,” the Luxembourg Peace Prize website stated.

Mwangi has been a vocal activist both locally and internationally, speaking the truth to power and holding leaders to account.

Boniface Mwangi wins coveted award

He is known for his courage and rebuke of issues that have negated economic, social and religious prosperity both in Kenya and the world.

The delighted activist appreciated the award and acknowledged the congratulatory messages that streamed in writing:

“Thank you everyone for your very kind words. I’m humbled by your love. Those who do good must do that fast and first because the evil doers never rest. Keep doing good. Keep spreading the love. Keep on speaking courage fluently,” he said.

Mwangi is also an accomplished author and publisher with his piece, Boniface Mwangi Unbounded receiving major praise from world leaders including former US President Barack Obama and former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
