Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria caused a storm on social media after an interview in which he opened up on his relationship with DP Ruto, lending him money and the genesis of his fallout with Jubilee and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The lawmaker confirmed that he received huge sums of money from Deputy President William Ruto who was among the financiers of his People’s Empowerment Party (PEP) during the Juja by-election.

Kuria made the revelations in an interview on Thursday night where he also noted that he enjoys a cordial relationship with DP, adding that they’ve always supported each other financially.

“…Yes I did receive financial support from the Deputy President for the Juja by-election, he is my friend, sometimes he goes broke and I give him money,” Moses Kuria affirmed.

His admission that he lends the DP money caused a storm on social media as Kenyans protested since DP Ruto is considered one of the richest men in the country at the moment.

In 2018, when pressure was mounting on DP Ruto to undergo a lifestyle audit in the wake of massive corruption in government, Kuria alleged that he is responsible for the flamboyance and choppers that are the hallmark of DP Ruto.

“…Nataka tuabiane ukweli kama wakristo, hiyo chopper ni yangu ni mimi nilikuwa nimempatia (The Principal has stated that the DP’s chopper…I want us to tell each other the trusth as Christians.  The chopper is mine, I am the one who gave it to him.” Kuria clarified at a fundraiser in Gaichanjiru High School in Murang’a on 04 August 2018.

He also opened up on his fallout with the Jubilee party and President Uhuru Kenyatta that has seen him support candidates rivalling Jubilee’s and even scoop victory as was the case in Juja, noting that he learned the same from none other than the Jubilee party leader himself.

“I took it from my Party leader…The moment Uhuru Kenyatta posed for those photos in Msambweni with Omar Boga and Hassan Joho; I knew that is the way to go, so I’m actually follow in the footsteps of my party leader.

“In Kibera, Maina Kamanda and all those people went to support the ODM candidate and there was nothing with it,” stated Kuria.
