Covid-19 Cases in Kenya rise to 170735 as deaths soar to 3172

88 people have tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the total confirmed cases in the country to 170735.

The positive cases were realized after 1668 samples were tested within the last 24 hours.

Kenya’s positivity rate stands at 5.3%.

Cumulatively, 1,811,558 tests have so far been conducted since March last year when Kenya reported its first case.

Kenya also celebrated 71 new recoveries, bringing the total recoveries to 116847.

64 recoveries were recorded from the Home Based Care program while 7 came from various health facilities.

A total of 84896 recoveries have so far been recorded from the Home Based Care program while 31951 came from various health facilities.

Within the same 24 hours, 15 people succumbed to Covid-19, raising the total fatalities to 3172.
