Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have launched a manhunt for a woman believed to be behind wave of killings that has recently hit Mtwapa region of Kilifi County.

Reports from the Daily Nation indicated that the sleuths were looking for an identified woman after two lovers were found dead on separate dates in Coastal’s Mtwapa area.

This is after the body of Krabbe Dieter Gunther, a German national, was found on the ground floor of a hotel in Mombasa.

His body was found on Saturday, May 29, just two days after that of his girlfriend only identified as Cynthia Akinyi was found wrapped in a bedsheet in Mtwapa in a mysterious way.

The case has now taken a different twist as the authorities are now after a woman they believe to be connected to the killings.

After Akinyi’s death the police were after the German thinking that he had murdered her girlfriend only for his body to picked later.

Preliminary reports from the case then ruled that he had died from suicide, with indications pointing he had jumped from the fifth floor of the hours.

Further reports from Kilifi County commander also showed that Gunther 58 had quarreled with the girlfriend.

“The man had a fight with the woman in their house on Wednesday night. He killed her and then ran away. His body was found at around 6am on Saturday by members of the public, who then alerted the police.”

“It has not been established if he had booked a room in the hotel before committing suicide. I am yet to get the details,” stated Taliti.

After advanced investigations, sleuths now believe the man might have been pushed to his death by a woman from Kembeni in Bamburi.

“It is alleged that Mr. Dieter had another woman but we are still investigating the matter to know what caused his death.

“The boda boda rider knows a lot since he was the only one who was sent to buy food and even beer for the lovers and deliver it to their apartment at Mtomondoni and the other house in Bamburi,” the police boss clarified.
