Covid-19 Cases in Kenya Soar to 171226

144 people have tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the total confirmed cases in the country to 171,226 .
The positive cases were realized after 2,650 samples were tested within the last 24 hours. Kenya’s positivity rate stands at 5.3%.

Cumulatively, 1,811,558 tests have so far been conducted since March last year when Kenya reported its first case.
Kenya also celebrated 71 new recoveries, bringing the total recoveries to 116847.

7 recoveries were recorded from the Home Based Care program while 9 came from various health facilities.

A total of 117039 recoveries have so far been recorded in the Country, of which 85,047 are from the Home Based Care program while 31,992 came from various health facilities.

Within the same 24 hours, 18 people succumbed to Covid-19, raising the total fatalities to 3206.

1,251 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities, while 4,705 patients are under the Home Based Isolation and Care Program.

92 patients are in the ICU, 21 of whom are on ventilatory support and 54 on supplemental oxygen. 17 patients are under observation.
