Miguna Miguna: How Uhuru and Raila Sabotaged My Bid to Replace Sonko Following His impeachment

Fiery opposition activist and self-declared NRM general Miguna Miguna has this morning lifted the lid on how President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga Have conspired to frustrate his bid to lead Nairobi County as its governor.

Miguna stated that the duo sabotataged his dreams by ensuring that a by-election that was imminent in Nairobi following the impeachment of former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.

He assured his supporters that despite the frustrations, he is confident of victory writing:

“The Nairobi County Gubernatorial race which I was set to win in March 2021 has been sabotaged by despot Uhuru Kenyatta, Conman @RailaOdinga and their cartels out to derail the inevitable revolutionary transformation. We will defeat them no matter what they do. #RevolutionNow”.

Indeed the Nairobi by-election that was occasioned by Sonko’s impeachment was full of twists and turns and was shelved at the last minute as rivals assembled their troops.

First was the resignation of then Assembly speaker Beatrice Elachi who has since been appointed Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the Ministry of Public Service and Gender..

This was swiftly followed by Benson Mutura ascending to her seat as speaker and subsequently sworn in as acting governor.

Before the public could blink an eye, the nomination of Anne Kananu as Deputy Governor (a nomination made by Sonko before his impeachment) was debated and adopted, paving the way for her to rise to the helm in the absence of a governor.

It remains unclear how Miguna Miguna intended to contest since the government declared him a foreigner despite the same government clearing him to contest in the 2017 Nairobi gubernatorial contest.

He however had his victory in court after the court ruled that his deportation was illegal and ordered for him to be granted safe passage back into the country and for his documents which were seized to be returned to him.
