Garissa Township Member of Parliament Hon. Aden Duale has revealed details of the millions owed to former Kibwezi MP, Alembe Ndile and urged Jubilee Party leadership led by President Uhuru Kenyatta to clear the debt.
Dwale revealed in parliament on June 8 that the Ksh 6 million owed to The Independent Party(Tip Tip) leader – the late Kalembe Ndile should be cleared.
He added that having won the elections and formed government, Jubilee is obligated to pay the amount.
Tip Tip was among fourteen political parties that folded to form Jubilee as the president and his team embarked on an ambitious plan to unite all Kenyans under one party.“Hon. Kalembe kept asking for 6 million for folding his party,”
He maintained that despite the death of Kalembe, the Jubilee Party Majority Leader Amos Kimunya and the Party Whip Emmanuel Wangwe to pick the debt note and make sure they deliver the Ksh6 million.
The idea was however opposed in parliament by Minority Leader John Mbadi who held that Kenyans should not be dragged into private negotiations held by political parties.
“Is he in order to imply that Kenyan taxpayers’ money should be used to settle debts that are owed by political parties or friends of political parties?” Mbadi questioned.
The two visited Kalembe Ndile’s family on Friday, June 8.
Kalembe passed away on May 30 and will be buried in his Mbui Nzau home, Makueni County on 11 June 2021.
The former majority leader passed condolences to the bereaved family on behalf of his constituents.
His widow yesterday disagreed with a request to have his coffin draped in Wiper Party Flag, arguing out that it will turn his sendoff into a wiper party event.
