Education CS George Magoha on Tuesday, June 15, revealed the most popular schools in Kenya that got thousands of applicants from KCPE 2020 candidates.

Magoha who was speaking during the launch of the form one selection results in Nairobi, revealed that Nanyuki Boys High School was the most selected school.

The list had familiar names and academic giants featuring in the most popular choices.

1.) Nanyuki Boys High School  154,524
2.) Kabianga High School  142,000
3.) Nyandarua High School 123,000
4.) Nakuru High Schools 100,000
5.) Butere High School 94,000
6.) Mbooni High School 93,000  

In the national school category, academic giants feature with Alliance Girls (105,000), Pangani (124,000), Maseno (104,000) and Kapsaret Boys (95,000).

“It is important to educate our teachers that the best schools are not the ones that we are applying to, otherwise, selection becomes difficult,” the CS stated.

The CS also announced that form one students would report to school on August 2, 2021 following the disruption that was occasioned by Covid-19.

He added that all candidates had been placed in government learning facilities and assured the public that the process was done with integrity and purely based on merit. 

“We have strictly applied the principles of equity, fairness, merit, transparency, inclusiveness and affirmative action in the form one selection and that is why the placement has taken longer.

“In keeping with the 100 percent transition in public schools, 1,171,625 candidates have been placed in secondary schools. This is after excluding inmates, overage candidates, and candidates from refugee camps,” ,” Magoha stated.

“Candidates and parents can now access joining instructions that are available online for all categories of schools through the ministry’s www.education.go.ke or check the results by texting the candidate’s number only to 22263.
