Murang’a governor called on for mass protest against the Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission [IEBC] this comes after the body failed to clear him to run for President in the August general election

The governor requested his supporters and Kenyans at large to stand with him on Tuesday, June 7 as he delivers his petition to the National assembly and Senate

Addressing the press on Friday, June 3, the Usawa Kwa Wote leader stated that IEBC was against the law clearing presidential aspirants adding that Wafula Chebukati’s actions were a matter of international importance and concern

The governor reiterate that he will submit a memorandum to the parliament for the lawmakers and cabinets to discuss the conduct of IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati, this is after he failed to meet the requirement needed by that body to clear him for the August polls

“I’m demanding that a special team be set up to audit what is happening at IEBC and it must be made up of observers. I’m now speaking as the President of the Usawa Kwa Wote resistance movement, I am resisting electoral injustice.

“Nothing should continue. No one should be gazetted because you cannot gazette someone because of fraud,” he stated.

Wa Iria further explained that he has called a meeting with the diplomates from European Union on the same Tuesday to discuss the conduct of the IEBC and the illegality of clearing presidential aspirants without audited voter registration.

“I have today written to the European Union requesting to meet them on Tuesday next week. I want us to discuss the malpractices and unfair candidate clearing process because it requires an outside ear now.”

Wa Iria described the clearance of presidential aspirants as an act of terrorism, stating that the country was headed for ruins if Chebukati was allowed to continue with the process.

Further, The governor called on the international community to intervene in his matter adding that the International Criminal Court (ICC) should prosecute Chebukati for bungling the electoral process.

The Murang’a governor for the last few days has been on the front line to criticize the IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati , the effort to meet him also fall in the bear rock

The governor now urges the Director of Criminal Investigation [DCI] to help him in locating the locate the IEBC chairperson

“I have been looking for my returning officer and I am now going to file a report with the DCI that he is missing. He only appears in the media at night to mention me then vanishes,” he stated then.
