Police officers from Mombasa are currently investigating an incident that happened a few days ago after a police officer who has been identified as Police Constable Ropus Mondoe was found dead in his house along with a Suicide not that indicated that he had killed himself due to the increasing amount of debts he had.

A few days ago, the officer who is reported to have killed himself left a note claiming that he had decided to do so due to the fact that he had a large amount of debt which was accruing. For this reason, he claimed that he decided to kill himself urging his OCS to help him pay his debt.

While reacting to this incident, the wife of the deceased claimed that she came to know of her husband’s death through one of his colleagues. In her own words, she said that she became suspicious after he failed to pikc his phone after she tried to call several times.

“From October, he reduced the amount of money which he used to send home. I didn’t ask or talk to him about it due to the fact that he was not a man who would open up until he was ready to. I only came to find out that he was dead after I called him in our usual hours only for him not to answer his phone and that’s when I knew that something Was wrong because he always answers. I called one of his colleagues who confirmed that he was indeed dead.

This is happening at the same time when President Uhuru Kenyatta has urged the police to always find someone to talk to instead of killing themselves. According to the reports given by president Uhuru Kenyatta, he said that this would help reduce the increasing rate of suicide and murder in the country.
