Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has made a come back to active politics after a lengthy break. Sonko, who has been off the political scenes especially after being ousted out of office as the Nairobi governor, had resorted to a low-key profile, often spending time in his enterprises. He has however staged a return, this time with the Wiper party led by former vice president Kalonzo Musyoka.

On Friday evening, photos in which Sonko and other Wiper leaders were captured surfaced online. Reports indicated that the one-time city chief executive had been signed into the outfit as a life member.

Before the engagements with Wiper, Sonko attended a funeral service in Karinde, Kiambu county, a function that was also attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Kalonzo among other leaders.
