Bahati Member of parliament Hon Irene Njoki attended a General public participation meeting at Wanyororo B discussing issues concerning her community.
Hon Irene talked about the formation of a committee that will represent the community issues at GDC. She insisted that the committee must be formed by locals around the GDC area instead of the previous committee which comprised politicians appointees.
”The locals must be prioritized in all the employment opportunities at GDC. GDC must undertake CSR projects, quoting water, education, health, and roads as the key areas they should start with.”
She also insisted on the Internship opportunities for local graduates in the relevant fields applicable at GDC insisting on the Initiation of youth empowerment programs, especially in talent and agriculture.
Also, in the forum, she raised the issue of drafting an M.O.U between GDC and the community so that they can be considered in case they don’t implement what was discussed.
Hon Irene Njoki is committed to ensuring bahati residents are the first to benefit in case of any available opportunity.
