Kisii county gubernatorial race is among the hottest contested seats in the country as it has attracted very powerful and influential politicians who want to take control of the county ahead of the August elections.

The most preferred Gusii region gubernatorial candidate Manson Oyongo who was set to manage Kisii County under Kenya National Congress Party (KNC) has faced a setback after losing his deputy Governor.

After a series of ground checks, Dr. Alfred Ndemo bolted out of the race joining the second time Dagorreti North legislature Hon. Simba Arati cites that the lion has taken over the omogusii region after leaked information that the Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government in Kenya Dr. Fred Matiangi supported his sentiments publicly.

Dr. Alfred Ndemo resigning and joining team Simba Arati citing frustration and lack of structures in their camp of KNC. He made this move today at a rally in Motonto Kitutu Chache North.

This comes shortly after Kisii County Governor James Ongwae fought for supremacy in the region leading to divisions amongst Azimio la Umoja train.

According to the latest survey conducted by the Consortium of Researchers on Governance (CORG) where the respondents were asked who to vote among the Candidates as their Governor would elections be held today, results Alleges that Hon Manson Oyongo would take the day followed by Simba Arati then Ruto’s UDA aspirant Ezekiel Machogu.

Manson Oyongo was voted by 34.3% of the total respondents, Simba Arati coming second with 28.1% a difference of 6.2%. Ezekiel Machogu of UDA came third with 12.4%, however, 13.6% have yet to make up their mind hence giving top aspirants high chances of winning the race.

The only chance now remaining for Hon Manson Oyongo is to join hands with either Simba Arati, Chris Obure, or Sam Ongeri to revive his survival politically.
