Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta at a past event

Wednesday, February 9, 2022 – In a strange admission, ODM Leader Raila Odinga’s local MP has confessed that President Uhuru Kenyatta is not 100% in support of Baba.

Speaking during a debate on Citizen TV’s morning show, Daybreak, which was hosted by Sam Gituku, Mathare Member of Parliament Anthony Tom Oluoch, who was appearing on the show alongside former Nairobi County Deputy Governor Jonathan Mueke and Azimio member Fred Okang’o, who is also a member of KANU, stated that Uhuru is only working with Raila out of frustrations he endured from Deputy President William Ruto.

This flies in the face of the version of the two Handshake partners who have always maintained that they are working together for the sake of unity across the whole country.

While castigating the conduct of the deputy president who he described as an errant subordinate, Oluoch explained that the DP had subjected his boss to untold frustration and that the only thing that had pushed the president to work with his erstwhile archrival Raila Odinga was this frustration from his deputy. Uhuru has defended his handshake with Raila, arguing that those opposing it have no basis.

Speaking in Mombasa on Monday, Uhuru repeated that his handshake with Raila was not meant to curtail anybody’s ambitions but to unite the country, but according to Oluoch, Uhuru had no choice but to partner with Raila for political expediency after enduring so much from Ruto.
