<\/a><\/p>\nMaendeleo Ya Wanawake Organisation have finally gathered to mark the 16 days of Activism against gender based violence as MYWO.<\/p>\n
The 16 days of Activism against gender-based violence is an international campaign that commences on 25th November and ends on 10th December.<\/p>\n
The Maendeleo ya Wanawake have however stated that there is a need to take stock and see what they have achieved so in the fight against GBV and also to look at where the group have gone wrong to come up with a concrete solution in the fight against the giant GBV.<\/p>\n
The organisation has affirmed that they’ve have read and heard the stories of the sufferings that women and girls go through from FGM, SGBV, lack of sanitary towels and others. The stories are devastating and the violence must end and bring a change either in small,medium or large ways to tame out the actions against women and girls.<\/p>\n
MYWO in a universal voice have called women leaders to turn out in large masses and speak out in one voice and pull in the same direction towards the goal of eradicating the vices.<\/p>\n
Maendeleo Ya Wanawake has been in existence for the last 70 years and the group has always remained relevant in fighting for the family unit which is the stone upon which the society is built.<\/p>\n
The group is saying that loss of peace in the families leads to no peace and there is a need to find the solution for the ongoing injustices against women and children.<\/p>\n
Mrs Rahab Muiu the organisation’s chairperson said that working on good family values,integrity,teaching children the right ways paves way for role model culture. ‘We must start working on good family values,integrity,teaching our children on the right way to go and need ourselves to be the role\u00a0 models of the same.” Mrs. Rahab Muiu National Chairperson Maendeleo ya Wanawake Organisation( MYWO).<\/p>\n
Mrs. Rahab has urged the government for the support to tame the injustices over the years towards the eradication of SGBV applauding President Ruto reign to continue standing out to fight the giant stating that MYWO remains committed to complement the efforts the government has set to end the issues. “MYWO remains committed to complement the efforts the government has put in ending vices committed against girls,women and men too as our brothers, fathers and sons.” said Mrs. Rahab Muiu National Chairperson.<\/p>\n
