KCB Bank Kenya has partnered with Mang\u2019u High School to scale its aviation\u00a0training programme in what will see hundreds of students benefit in the next\u00a0five years.<\/p>\n

KCB will facilitate the equipping of the School\u2019s aviation center, providing the\u00a0students with hands-on experience in aviation and prepare them for careers in\u00a0the\u00a0aviation\u00a0industry.<\/p>\n

Kenya Airways has donated an aircraft\u2014Boeing 737-700\u2014to the school and\u00a0KCB will facilitate its transfer from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to the\u00a0Thika\u00a0based\u00a0facility\u00a0and\u00a0support\u00a0in\u00a0kitting\u00a0the\u00a0aviation\u00a0center.\u00a0The\u00a0Bank\u00a0has\u00a0put\u00a0in\u00a0KShs.5\u00a0million towards the project.<\/p>\n

\u201cKCB remains committed in supporting the youth agenda and that includes\u00a0access\u00a0to\u00a0skills\u00a0development,\u00a0business\u00a0development\u00a0support\u00a0and\u00a0financing.\u00a0We\u00a0believe that a strong investment in our youth today is a recipe for economic\u00a0growth. Through this sponsorship, our goal is to inspire students to take up a\u00a0career in the aviation sector with a long-term goal of mainstreaming it in our\u00a0curriculum.\u201d\u00a0Said\u00a0KCB\u00a0Group\u00a0CEO\u00a0Paul\u00a0Russo\u00a0while\u00a0making\u00a0the\u00a0donation.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0programme\u00a0is\u00a0expected\u00a0to\u00a0train\u00a0a\u00a0critical\u00a0mass\u00a0of\u00a0future\u00a0air\u00a0traffic\u00a0controllers,\u00a0aircraft\u00a0engineers, pilots\u00a0among\u00a0others.<\/p>\n

Mang\u2019u High School is one of the few schools in Kenya that offer aviation\u00a0training, focusing on technical skills such as propulsion, thermodynamics, &\u00a0meteorology. The aviation students undertake most of their studies at Wilson\u00a0Airport\u00a0& Moi\u00a0Air\u00a0Base\u00a0in Eastleigh.<\/p>\n

We believe that a strong aviation program is essential for\u00a0preparing students for the future in this field, ” said Mang\u2019u High School Board\u00a0of\u00a0Management\u00a0Chairman, Mr.\u00a0Anthony Maina\u00a0Mithanga.<\/p>\n
